After a long absence, minor league baseball is returning to the Rocket City! The Trash Pandas new stadium is on its way to completion, and the home opener is Wednesday, April 15 - AKA Tax Day. But Tax Day falling on April 15 isn’t always the case.

While the deadline for individual income tax returns usually falls on April 15, tax season occasionally gets extended due to weekends or the DC holiday Emancipation Day. For example, tax day in 2022 falls on April 18 - tax season will last THREE more days!

But in 2020, the premiere season for the Rocket City Trash Pandas, tax day falls on April 15. And yet, tax season this year is still one day longer, thanks to a quadrennially occurring calendar event - Leap Day. So, in the end, CPAs are going to miss opening day thanks to it being a Leap Year. But never fear - Rocket City CPAs will descend upon Toyota Field starting April 16 to reacclimate to the outdoors, see our friends and families, and relax at America’s pastime.
